How does it work?

  • Your Club will consist of a Premier League team's "attackers" and a different team's "defenders"
  • You may sign up Manchester City's Attack (which should provide a lot of goals) but this would be balanced by a relatively poor defence. This should mean a good chance of balanced Club squads so that each manager has a chance of winning a few matches.
  • Over a 17 match season your Club will play each one of the other 17 Clubs in a head to head battle see example below of how scoring is calculated.
  • All UFL results will be published on this site by the Tuesday night after a weekend's matches
  • There will also be a match report on one match each week.

The Utopian Football League Club list showing their attack and defence

UFL Club Prem League Attack Prem League Defence
1 Accrington Padley Man City Brighton
2 Juninho's Boys Liverpool Sheffield Utd
3 FC Strollers Arsenal Aston Villa
4 Grangetown Tigers Tottenham Norwich
5 New Model Army Chelsea Newcastle
6 FC Trekers Man Utd Southampton
7 Scouting for goals Bournemouth Burnley
8 Badger's Rucksack Everton Wolves
9 Real Padrid West Ham Leicester
10 Melon Crushers Watford Crystal Palace
11 Max's Mashers Leicester West Ham
12 Saltburn Lethargics Crystal Palace Watford
13 Carlyall United Wolves Everton
14 Kay Southampton Bournemouth
15 Ronnie's Raiders Burnley Chelsea
16 Aveit Newcastle Man Utd
17 Welshies Wonders Aston Villa Arsenal
18 Two Little Girls Sheffield Utd Liverpool

Example of how scoring is calculated:

Accrington Padley (Manchester City Attack and Brighton's defence) may play against Real Padrid (West Ham's Attack and Leicester's defence).

Real life Premier League results involving these team's may be:

Man City 4 Norwich 0

Southampton 2 Brighton 1

= FC Strollers score 4 goals minus 2 conceded by Brighton = 2 goals for Accrington Padley

West Ham 5 Tottenham 1

Wolves 1 Leicester 0

= Grangetown score 5 goals minus 1 conceded by Leicester = 4 goals for Real Padrid

Result of Utopian match would be:

Accrington Padley 2 - Real Padrid 4

Additional notes:

If your defence lets in more than your attack scores, you will receive a minus score.

If your Premier League attack is playing against your own defence, your attacking score only will be included. e.g. no deduction for defensive goals conceded.

Weekend only and no score if a match is postponed!

UFL Club matches will include prem team results for matches on weekends only, not midweek games. Due to european football, some premier League teams will play on Thursdays but UFL Club results will only use scores from matches played on Fridays-Mondays. If one of your 2 teams does not play or their match is postponed, you won't score any goals with that team.

Give your players a boost for one match during the season by using the magic sponge!

Over the course of a long season, professional footballers will become tired and form will drop. You can double your goals scored on one occasion during the season.
